Process
I modelled it with grease pencil itself. Which was both an opportunity and a setback. I was curious to see how it would alter the usual 3D and 2D hybrid pipelines and the results came out better than anticipated. Although, there was a lot of optimization that needed to be done since this was made without any add-ons which convert grease pencil to mesh. Facial expressions are fully 2D drawn over so the limitations of expresivness in regard of rigging grease pencil are fully lost. I believe this process gave me more courage to further seek ways two mediums can blend with each other and positives each medium brings to the table. I’m looking forward to hopefully be a part of hybrid productions since I believe it would benefit my artistic growth in this direction.
